Unframed Browser for iPhone

Privacy policy

Effective: 13 October 2026 · Last updated: 18 October 2026

Slightly Games operates Unframed Browser, shown as Unframed on your device. This policy explains how the app handles website data, saved logins, tabs, downloads, bookmarks, and preferences. Contact us at hello@slightly.games about privacy or this policy.

You do not need a Slightly Games account to use Unframed. We do not operate a server that receives your browsing history, saved passwords, or bookmarks. The app does not include an advertising SDK, a separate usage-analytics service, or a third-party crash-reporting SDK. Websites you visit and Apple's services handle information as described below.

Browsing and website data

Unframed uses Apple's WebKit to load the websites you choose. Your device connects to those websites and the services they embed. They may receive your IP address, requested URLs, browser and device information, cookies, and information you enter or submit. Those websites may provide advertisements, analytics, account services, or payments under their own privacy policies. Unframed does not make your browsing anonymous or prevent all website tracking.

WebKit stores website data on your device, including cookies, cached files, local storage, and website databases. This can keep you signed in and preserve website preferences or progress. Tabs share WebKit website sessions, cookies, and storage on the device. Unframed locally remembers open website addresses, tab titles, their order, and the selected tab so it can restore them. Temporary page-generated blob addresses are not restored. The app does not keep a separate persistent browsing-history list; each open tab has its own navigation history while it is running. Open tabs are not included in the app’s iCloud settings sync.

Some links, such as email, phone, or other app links, can open an app outside Unframed. After you confirm opening the link, Unframed passes the link and the information it contains to iOS to open in the receiving app. This may include an email address, phone number, message text, or other link parameters. The receiving app handles that information under its own privacy policy.

Saved passwords and filling

Saving logins is optional. When you submit a supported HTTPS login form, Unframed processes the website address, username, and password on your device to offer to save or update the login. Supported forms include forms handled by website JavaScript. A save or update offer may appear before the website confirms that your login succeeded; the offer does not mean the credentials were accepted. Unframed may compare the submitted login with its matching saved entry while the device is unlocked, without displaying an authentication prompt for that comparison. A login is stored or updated only after you approve saving and authenticate. You can also add a login yourself in Menu → Passwords.

Saved entries contain the website's HTTPS origin (scheme, host, and port), username, and password. They are stored in Apple's protected Keychain, separately from ordinary app preferences. They can sync through iCloud Keychain when enabled. These are Unframed's own saved entries; the app does not add them to the list of website passwords managed in Apple's Passwords app.

Filling and opening password management require Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode through Apple's authentication system. Unframed does not receive your biometric data or device passcode. A fill action is limited to a supported form on the exact matching HTTPS origin. It places the login in the page's fields without submitting the form; the website and its scripts can then access those field values. We do not send saved credentials to a Slightly Games server.

In Menu → Passwords, you can view, edit, reveal, or delete entries after authenticating. Deletion requires confirmation and is synchronized to your other devices when iCloud Keychain is available. Closing password management ends that authenticated session; moving the app into the background locks it. Apple's system AutoFill, when offered by the keyboard, is managed separately through Apple or your chosen credential provider.

Downloads and sharing

When you download a file, your device requests it from the website using its existing website session where applicable. The website and its service providers receive the request under their own policies. Completed files are saved in the app’s Documents/Downloads folder and are accessible in the Files app under On My iPhone → Unframed → Downloads.

Unframed keeps a local download list with filenames, source hostnames, dates, status, file sizes, and progress information. For downloads that support resuming, it also keeps protected resume data supplied by WebKit; this can contain request information needed to continue the transfer. Files, the download list, and resume data are not sent to a Slightly Games server or included in Unframed’s settings sync. Device backups may include them according to your Apple settings.

Quick Look uses Apple’s system preview to display supported files inside the app. Share opens the iOS share sheet: a destination you choose, such as Files, another app, or a person, receives the selected file. Copies you export are managed by that destination and are not deleted when you delete the original in Unframed. Download notices appear inside the app; Unframed does not send push notifications.

Bookmarks, settings, and iCloud

Unframed stores your bookmarked website addresses and names, menu corner, mobile or desktop browsing mode, and status-bar preference locally. It also uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage to synchronize bookmarks and these preferences between devices using the same Apple Account when iCloud is available. Revision identifiers, change times, and deletion records are stored to reconcile changes made on different devices.

Password sync uses iCloud Keychain separately from settings sync. Cookies, website databases, open tabs, and downloads are not included in Unframed's settings-sync feature. Apple device backups may include local app data according to your device and account settings.

You can use the app without iCloud sync. Manage iCloud and Passwords & Keychain through your Apple device settings. Unframed has no separate in-app sync switch. Disabling sync or changing your Apple Account does not erase local bookmarks or preferences; retained local settings and bookmarks may merge into the account used when syncing resumes. Apple operates these services under Apple's Privacy Policy and its iCloud privacy information.

Your controls and deletion

Remove saved logins in Menu → Passwords → Delete password. Remove bookmarks in Menu → Bookmarks → Remove bookmark, and change browsing preferences in the main menu. Removing a bookmark removes its name from the active list, but a synchronization record containing its website address and deletion metadata is retained so an offline device does not restore it.

Refresh in the menu asks WebKit to revalidate the current page’s cached resources with the website. Pulling down on a page performs a normal reload. Neither action erases all cached resources or clears cookies, website local storage and databases, saved passwords, bookmarks, or settings. Other tabs keep their state; unsaved changes in the refreshed page may be lost. Website-controlled caches may still apply. It is not an “erase browsing data” command, and the app currently has no separate control to erase all website storage. Use the website's sign-out and account controls for its own services.

Close a tab to remove it from the restored tab list; this does not sign you out of websites or erase shared website data. Use Menu → Downloads to cancel active transfers or remove download entries and files. Cancelling removes partial and resume data for that transfer. Deleting a completed download removes its local file after confirmation. Files can also be managed through the Files app.

Deleting the app removes its local app container, including its local website data, but does not necessarily remove Keychain entries, data already synced to iCloud, Apple backups, or information held by websites. Delete saved logins inside Unframed before uninstalling if you want to remove those entries. Manage Apple-held data through Apple's controls, and request deletion of website accounts or server-side records from the relevant website.

Contact and website information

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use them to respond and handle your request. Please do not send passwords, device passcodes, payment details, or screenshots containing private browsing information.

When you open the Slightly Games website, including this policy or the studio link inside Unframed, our website and hosting services process connection information such as IP addresses and requested pages to deliver and protect the website. The studio website does not embed advertising or a separate visitor-analytics service. We do not sell your support correspondence or use it for targeted advertising.

Use, retention, and service providers

Information handled by the app is used to load websites, restore tabs, download and preview files, remember your choices, fill logins at your request, and synchronize saved data. We use information sent to us to provide support and protect our website. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, this may be providing the service you request, your consent, our legitimate interests in support and security, or a legal obligation. You can withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Local and synced app data remain until changed or deleted using the controls described above, subject to synchronization records and backups. We keep support correspondence only as needed to resolve requests, maintain necessary support records, and meet legal obligations. Apple, visited websites, and their providers determine retention for information they process under their policies. Providers may process information outside your country, with safeguards described in their policies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, restrict or object to processing, or withdraw consent. Contact hello@slightly.games to make a request about information Slightly Games holds. We may need information to verify the request. We cannot remotely retrieve or erase your device's saved passwords, bookmarks, or private iCloud data.

For information held by Apple or a website you visit, use that provider's privacy controls and request process. You may complain to your local data-protection authority where applicable. Exercising a privacy right does not prevent ordinary use of Unframed.

Children

Unframed provides access to the open web and is not designed specifically for children. Websites may contain material unsuitable for children. Parents can manage app access through Apple's family and device settings. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support correspondence, contact us so we can investigate and delete information we hold where appropriate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the app or its services change. The date above identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request new consent for material changes.
